“People Should Die Earlier With Grace” – I’ve Been Waiting For This Argument

David Brooks is just saying health care costs are rising because people aren’t sucking it up and dying when it’s their time.

But hey, he’s not recommending any solution that can be inferred with believing this statement…

If the real problem with our health care system is the “continue my life until it’s exhausted” phenomenon as David Brooks states, then the only responsible policy remedy would be to implement a socialized national health system, the basic system used abroad to make people live longer and more cheaply than our system.

The other option is to price people out until they can’t afford to try to extend their lives, which is the Ryan platform endorsed by every Republican member of the House, and praised by David Brooks before it was un-praised.

David Brooks does not know what to do with all the things he knows.
