Senators Dodd and Gillibrand will be attending a Wall Street fundraiser/party on Monday. But wait? You may be asking yourself. Isn’t Senator Dodd in charge of the reforming the financial system that these people operate in?
But if he’s taking money from them, how will he implement changes unwanted by Big Finance? You may also ask.
This could explain why the Brown/Kaufman Amendment isn’t going anywhere. If you think the banks are Too Big to Fail and this is a very bad thing, call your senators and get the Brown/Kaufman amendment up for a vote. Then at least, you’ll know who’s fighting for you.
A more important question is, since Dodd’s retiring at the end of this term, WHY IS HE EVEN AT A FUNDRAISER?
